About the Tower

The address closest to the Del

Few residences at Coronado Shores can claim a setting quite like La Sierra's. As the tower positioned nearest the legendary Hotel del Coronado, it places the whole of Coronado's oceanfront within an easy stroll — the white sand out front, the Del's restaurants and storied architecture next door, and the boutiques and cafés of Coronado Village just beyond. The second tower to open in the community, La Sierra welcomed its first residents in 1972 and has been a fixture of the skyline ever since. Step outside the lobby and you are already on the beach; the rest of the day arranges itself around the water.

Rising fifteen stories, La Sierra was laid out to make the most of its place on the shoreline. Floor-to-ceiling glass and generous private balconies pull the Pacific, San Diego Bay, the Coronado Bridge, and the city skyline straight into the living space. Because of the way the building faces the coast, residents catch both the morning light coming up over the bay and the long golden hour as the sun drops into the ocean — two very different shows from the same condo, depending on which way you look.

A major round of improvements in 2007 brought the tower firmly up to date without disturbing what makes it special. New elevators went in, the lobby and main entrance were reimagined, and the shared corridors and common areas were given a full refresh. Balcony railings throughout the building were replaced and repainted, sharpening the exterior into the clean, contemporary profile La Sierra carries today. Pair that with the resort amenities every Coronado Shores owner enjoys — oceanfront pools, tennis, the private Beach & Tennis Club, and direct access to more than a mile of celebrated beach — and La Sierra reads as one of the most effortless front-row addresses on the coast.

The Residences

Built for the view, in every direction

Each of La Sierra's fifteen floors holds roughly nine condos, offered across a spread of layouts that runs from compact studios to full three-bedroom residences. Whatever the size, the interiors are organized around the setting — open living areas, walls of glass, and a private balcony that turns the ocean, the bay, and the skyline into the focal point of daily life. A number of the condos have been thoughtfully remodeled with updated kitchens and baths, while others wait for a buyer to make them their own in one of the most coveted beachfront communities on the West Coast. Whether you want a lock-and-leave coastal retreat or a full-time condo by the sea, La Sierra has a floor plan to match.
